2008 SUMMER SKEET LEAGUE - 350 Targets

This will be a 350 target league, shot over seven weeks, with three bye weeks. The cost is a $50.00 entry fee per shooter. Entry fees will be used by SDSSA for participant and achievement awards, League end get together, or other uses deemed appropriate to promote League activities.

The purpose of this Skeet League is to promote the sport of skeet shooting, to encourage competition, and at the same time have a lot of fun and camaraderie. To promote this purpose team leaders are encouraged to develop teams composed of both registered skeet shooters and shooters who have not yet ventured into registered shooting. Using only the top 4 scores, per round, each week and handicap points for lower scoring teams will even the playing field. (See Shoot Rules)

2008 WINTER SKEET LEAGUE - 350 Targets
     

Teams: Teams will be composed of the Team Leader and up to 6 shooters. (Maximum of 6 shooters per team) (4 is the minimum number of shooters - 6 is encouraged)

Team Leader: The Team Leader will be responsible for communicating with his/her team and working out the time the team will shoot each week. The Team Leader will also be responsible for working with the Range Office to make sure there is a Field Staff available to pull and score. Skeet League score sheets are available in either the Range Office or the Skeet Starter's Hut.  A puller (when pullers are available) will assigned. After shooting targets, shooters will be responsible for verifying their scores and to see that the score sheet is completed (name, date, team number and week) and placed into the Skeet League Completed Score Sheet Envelope in the Skeet Starter’s hut or the Range Cashiers Office.
     
Shoot Rules:
  1.
The team is encouraged to shoot together as a team, although not mandatory.
  2.
Each week's shooting must be completed by Sunday afternoon. (The week starts on Wednesday)
  3.
Each team will shoot 2 rounds of regular skeet each week. (Gauge used is optional)
  4.
The week's rounds do not have to be shot consecutively but must be shot in the same week.
  5.
Only the top 4 scores of each round will be counted toward the competition.
  6.
Each week the total scores of each team will be recorded and league points will be given to teams based on the number of league teams participating. (i.e. - if there are 9 teams in the league the top team will get 9 points and the bottom team 1 point)
  7.
Handicap points for the next week will be 80% of the difference between each team's raw score (before Handicap is added) and the high team's raw score. This handicap is computed weekly.
  8.
If a team member is going to be unable to shoot during a week, that team member (or the entire team) may shoot a week early, but not late.
  9.
Scores are normally posted on the Internet and at the range by Wednesday following the end of the previous shooting week. Any score from the previous week may be questioned by a Team Captain prior to the end of the following week. Once the next week's scores are posted, the scores from the previous week are final.
  10. To be qualified for “Team High Overall Average” or “League High Overall Average”, the shooter must have shot all weeks of the league.
     
League Fees :
  1.
2 card entries per shooter (member or non-members as the case may be).

The entry fee for each participant is $50.00.  The league fees may be collected by the Team Captain for each team member and paid collectively or may be paid individually by the participant at the range cashiers window.  In either event, the fees must be paid in full prior to the commencement date of the League as established by the League Chairman.   League participants and Team Captains should take care when paying fees to ensure that the participant’s name is recorded as paid on the league’s master list and initialed by the range cashier at the time of payment.

Entry fees will be used by SDSSA for participant and achievement awards, League end get together, or other uses deemed appropriate to promote League activities.

The League will commence the week of June 4 and concludes August 10, 2008.

This will be seven weeks competition (2 rounds each week for 7 weeks). You may shoot ahead on a bye week if you would like to. Be aware that during bye weeks that a skeet tournament is being held. Check with the Range Office, at 619-858-278-3173, to ensure that practice fields are available.
 
Optional Registered Targets
If a shooter wishes to register his/her League Targets with NSSA, he/she must notify the Skeet League Chair (Dick Seaver @ tel 619.593.8131 or e-mail riseaver@hotmail) prior to shooting the targets plus the gauge he/she will be using. The Skeet League Chair will keep a record of targets shot, targets broken and gauge used and they will be recorded at the last skeet Tournament of the skeet year .

It is the shooter’s responsibility, when shooting League targets to be registered, to notify the puller of the gauge he/she is shooting.
Key rules to remember
Try to shoot as a team, you can shoot early but not late, and most of all have fun. Sign up yourself or your team at the Range masters window.
